Honestly, this probably won’t be useful to most people here since I’m guessing there aren’t exactly a ton of folks from Belarus hanging around this forum, but I figured I’d share it anyway.
We recently fixed up an older place and the ceiling ended up being way more of a headache than I expected. I spent a ridiculous amount of time comparing materials, different ways of doing the job, and figuring out what was actually worth paying someone else to handle.
While digging around I came across this page about ceiling repair. It was pretty handy for getting a basic idea of what we were dealing with before we started.
The biggest thing I learned is that the prep work matters a lot more than it seems at first. Skipping the boring stuff usually just creates more work later.
If anybody wants the details, I can put together a longer post about the whole renovation — what we DIY’d in the kitchen, what we hired out, what ended up being harder than expected, and a few things I’d probably do differently next time.
